James D. Houston, 77 of Canal Fulton formerly of Coventry Twp. passed away Saturday, Oct. 8, 2016 at Summa Health Center, Akron City Campus. Jim was a life resident of the Akron area, served in the U.S Navy and retired from Ohio Bell as a linesman. He was an avid reader and was a good family man. Preceded in death by his parents Juanita (Robinson) and James S. Houston; daughters, Kelli Belser and Kristine Houston, he is survived by his wife, Helen Houston; son, Troy (Sara) Houston; stepdaughter, Karen Griffith; stepson, Cliff Griffith; nine grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; sister, Robin Mansell; brothers, Charles, Robert and David Houston; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service TUESDAY 7:00 pm at the Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home, 624 Cherry St. East (Rte. 93) Canal Fulton and where friends may call TUESDAY from 6:00 pm until time of service. Final resting place will be Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
