James R. Martin, 82, passed away Monday, June 3, 2013 in Findlay, OH. Born in Warren, OH he had been a Canton area resident for the past 23 years retiring in 1996 as a consulting chemical engineer. James was proud of his Lutheran faith and being part of the U. S. Navy. Preceded in death by his parents Richard Martin and Martha Jane Hazlett-Martin; survivors include his wife of 54 years Mary W. Martin; daughters Joni Johnson-Fowler and Mary Beth (Robert) Hutcheson; grandchildren Tiffiny (Wes) Johnson-Townsend, Jessica (David) Gross, Matthew Piatt; Jackie Piatt, Deanna (Wayne) Mabe and Joshua Martin Fowler; great-grandchildren Taylor and Garrett Townsend, Byrson Mabe, Aubriella and Naomi Gross; brother John Martin; sisters Mary Alice Harlan, Martha Jane Sonntag, Ruth McGee, Sue Bales and Sylvia Krepton. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, June 6, 2013, 1pm at the Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home, 624 E. Cherry St, (Rt 93) Canal Fulton, with Calling Hours from 11am to 1pm. Entombment at Sunset Hills Burial Park. In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the Parkinson's Disease Foundation or the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
