Obituary

James Aloysius Nilles, age 84 of Canal Fulton, passed away Monday, January 24, 2022, after a brief illness. Born October 15, 1937 in Akron, Ohio to the late Aloysius and Marie (Lee) Nilles, he grew up in Coshocton and graduated from Coshocton High School. Jim was a loving and devoted husband and family man. Jim was a lifelong member of Local 219 Plumbers and Pipefitters Union, having been a master plumber for over 40 years. He loved to play golf with his family and was a die-hard fan of the Cleveland Browns football and Indians baseball teams. He was active for many years in the Canal Fulton community as a member of the Lions club and Jaycees. He was the #1 supporter of his children's sporting activities and was a past Commissioner and coach for the Northwest Junior Baseball League, working the chain gang at the NW home football games, and a member of the Touchdown club. Jim was a founding member of Victory Fellowship church in Barberton and was a trustee of the church, was active in the weekly bible study, and was a proud judge of the annual church chili cook-off. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Bob of Tulsa, OK. and his "adopted" grandson, Erick Grabski. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 64 years, Joyce (McCluggage), his daughter Jaime (Roderick) Grabski, his son Jay; his "adopted' grandchildren, Bryon (Laura) Grabski, Samuel (Megan) Grabski, and Tesia (Chris) Wagar; and 3 great-grandchildren. If you remember Jim Nilles, you remember his smile, laughter, and dry sense of humor. Funeral Services will be held SATURDAY, January 29, 2022, 12:00pm at the Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home, 624 Cherry St. E. (Rt. 93) Canal Fulton, Rev. Roderick Grabski officiating.
