Jennie M. Tabellion, age 84, of North Lawrence, passed away from acute leukemia August 22, 2015 at the Laurels in Massillon. She was born August 13, 1931 in Providence, Rhode Island to the late Mike and Nellie Dudewach. Jennie graduated from Hope High School in Providence in 1949, Katherine Gibbs College in 1951 and then worked at both the Naval Air Station Quonset Point and the Naval Station Newport. Jennie then became penpals with Alan Tabellion when he was stationed in Germany for the US Army. They were married in Providence in 1953 and moved to North Lawrence, Ohio. While raising a family of four, Jennie enjoyed many hobbies and activities, including cooking new recipes from her hundreds of cookbooks, tending her numerous perennial gardens, raising unique varieties of pumpkins and gourds, volunteering as a Girl Scout Leader and librarian aid at Newman School, and collecting antiques. Jennie is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Alan, and her daughter Diane (Tabellion) Barnes. She is survived by her sons Michael (Wanda) Tabellion and Stephen (Angel) Tabellion, daughter Gayle Tabellion, four granddaughters, three grandsons, and two great granddaughters. Jennie would like to thank her neighbors, Chris and Carol Kanters, for their help throughout the years. Mass of Christian Burial will be held, THURSDAY, August 27, 2015, 10:00am at SS Philip and James Catholic Church, 412 High St. NE, Canal Fulton, Fr. Kevin McCaffrey, celebrant. Burial at Sunset Hills Burial Park, Jackson Twp. No Calling Hours will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Community Hospice in New Philadelphia and the American Cancer Society.
