Joan H. Robertson, 79, born on May 6, 1932 in Canton, Ohio died peacefully on Monday November 28, 2011 in Barberton, Ohio. Joan Robertson was a retired nurse from Barberton Citizens Hospital. Her husband of many years, James J. Robertson, preceded her in death in 1971. Joan H. Robertson is survived by her five children: Marsha Harrison, of Hartsville, South Carolina and her husband Jim, Michael Robertson of San Diego, CA and his wife Joanna and daughters Hannah and Jessica, Robin Binckley of Los Angeles, CA and her husband David and daughters Michelle Dumas of San Bernadino, CA and Jessie Dumas of Phoenix, AZ, Kevin Robertson of Acworth, GA and his wife Cheryl and daughter Alysse, and Kathy Tenquist of Minneapolis, MN and her husband Clay and daughters Clayre and Sophie. Joan Robertson is also survived by her six great-grandchildren and numerous friends from her long-time residence in Manchester, Ohio as well as the devoted caregivers at Barberton Manor Care. Joan was an avid reader and an animal enthusiast with a particular passion for cats and dogs. She will be missed by her family and all who knew her.A mass will be held at St. Francis De Sales Catholic Church, 4019 Manchester Road, Akron on Friday, December 2nd at 11 am. with Fr. G. David Bline officiating. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association at P.O. Box 96011 Washington D.C. 20090 - 6011.
