JoEllen Stach, 72, of Canal Fulton, passed away unexpectedly on May 24, 2026.

Born in Barberton to Matthew and Helen Farkas, JoEllen spent part of her childhood on a farm in Sharon Center before graduating from Barberton High School. She later worked as a secretary for The J.M. Smucker Company.

JoEllen’s greatest joy in life was her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend whose love and support touched everyone around her. Nothing made her happier than having family together, whether around the dinner table, on a beach vacation, or simply enjoying each other’s company. She and John shared 45 wonderful years of marriage, building a life centered on family, friendship, and love.

Known for her warm hospitality and wonderful cooking, JoEllen loved bringing people together. She enjoyed making handmade greeting cards, playing pickleball with friends, vacationing at the beach, and shopping trips with her daughter, Erika. A loyal Cleveland Cavaliers fan, she especially enjoyed cheering on her favorite team alongside her husband, John.

JoEllen is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, John Stach; her son, Christopher (Kayla Hardin) Stach; her daughter, Erika (David) Kaufman; three sisters, Judy Meek, Patricia Biddle, and Mary Ann Blazak, plus many beloved relatives and dear friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Matthew and Helen Farkas.

JoEllen will be remembered for her kind heart, selfless love, and unwavering devotion to her family. The memories she created and the love she shared will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Family and friends may call on Saturday, May 30, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home in Canal Fulton, with funeral services immediately following at 12:00 p.m. Interment will take place following the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in JoEllen’s memory to the American Heart Association.
