John Robert "Bob" Shook, 88 of Canal Fulton died Sunday, March 27, 2011at Brewster Parke. Bob was born in Jackson Township and had been a life resident of the area. He graduated from Canal Fulton High School and was a member of the 1938 State High School Championship Basketball Team. He was a veteran of the U S Navy during World War II and had retired from Northwest Local School District. He formerly attended Trinity United Church of Christ and had been a member of the former American Legion of Canal Fulton. He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances in 1984; sister, Mabel Manley; brothers, Ralph and William Shook. He is survived by his daughter, Barbara (Duane "Butch") Knopf; grandchildren, Brian (Michelle) Knopf and Kara (Trevor) Myers; great grandchildren, Raven and Xander Knopf; Brayden and Addison Myers, all of Texas; sisters, Jean Swigart, Dorothy Orman and Ethel Henderson; nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service THURSDAY, 1:00 p.m. at the Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home, 624 E. Cherry Street, (Rt. 93, Canal Fulton) with Rev. Rod Grabski officiating. Burial at Canal Fulton Cemetery.
Visitation from Noon until time of services on Thursday. Memorials may be made to the Charity of your choice.
