John R. Domer, 89 of North Lawrence, passed away Monday, March 2, 2015 at the Aultman Compassionate Care Center. John was born in Canton and had been a life resident of Stark County where he worked for Ohio Edison retiring after 40 years of service. He was a member of Chapel of the Cross United Methodist Church where he served as a church trustee and donated numerous hours of his time and services. John enjoyed building and renovating homes and was a talented jack of all trades. He was a good role model for his sons and grandsons. John was a proud Army veteran having served during WWII. Preceded in death by his wife Corrine, son and daughter-in-law John "Fred" and Deborah Domer; infant son John Douglas Domer; he is survived by daughters, Judy (Kim) Schrock and Jennifer (Harry) Porter; grandchildren, Johnna (Brandon) Keck, Kenneth Alan Schrock, Steven (Cassandra) Porter, Daniel (Jaime) Porter, John Ross Domer and Jaclyn Domer; and five great grandchildren. Funeral service FRIDAY , 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel of the Cross United Methodist Church, 14411 Orrville St. NW, North Lawrence, OH 44666 with Rev. Bob Mitchell, officiating. Burial at Newmans Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends FRIDAY at the CHURCH, one hour prior to time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Chapel of the Cross United Methodist Church.
