John C. Sandy, 73 of Canal Fulton, passed away Tuesday, August 3, 2021. He was born May 1, 1948 in Massillon to the late William and Mariella Sandy and was a 1967 graduate of Massillon Washington High School. After high school John served in the US Army during Vietnam from 1968 to 1970 and then married Lynn Parks in December 1970. He retired from the Timken Co. as a security guard after 30 years of service. John was a member of the Lenape Trail Sportsman Club in Mt. Eaton. He loved fishing, hunting, country music and was a big NASCAR fan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Robert Sandy. John is survived by his loving wife of 50 1/2 years Lynn Sandy; daughter, Lisa Ann (Chris) Good of Bloomington, IN; son, William (Samantha) R. Sandy of Ravenna, OH; the loves of his life, granddaughters, Alexandria Sandy, Marisa Larson, Emma Sandy and Mariella Sandy; sister, Jane Shem; aunt, Beverly Konen; nieces, nephews, cousins and best friend Joseph (Pat) Weisgarber of Massillon. Funeral Services will be held SATURDAY, August 7, 2021, 12:00pm (NOON) at the Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home, 624 Cherry St. E. (Rt. 93) Canal Fulton. Burial at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens.
