IN LOVING MEMORY OF
John Allen
Seabold
August 12, 1943 – January 13, 2026
John A. Seabold of Canal Fulton, Ohio went home to be with the Lord on January 13, 2026 following extended illnesses. John was born in Elyria, Ohio on August 12, 1943 to the late William C. and Ruby Seabold of Oberlin, Ohio and graduated from Oberlin High School in 1962. Shortly thereafter, he married his late wife of 57 years, Nancy (Mack) Seabold.
John served in the US Army from 1963 - 1969 before eventually settling in Stark County, Ohio where he made his career in the banking and finance industry and ultimately retired as the Vice President of Society Bank of Eastern Ohio.
John enjoyed many hobbies during his life, but some of his proudest were his incredible talents in building street rod cars and Whizzer motorbikes, listening to his “oldies” music on his records, fishing with his son, traveling with his wife, wood working and volunteering at the Canal Fulton VFW Post 9795.
John was also an active member of the Real Hope Church in North Canton, Ohio. John spent his last years at the Canton Regency Assisted Living Facility where he quickly made many friends and impacted many more lives of both staff and residents.
John is survived by his two children, Mark (Marybeth) Seabold and Christine (Dustin) Affolter; his seven grandchildren: Britteny Seabold, Courtney Seabold, Brandon Rucker, Audrey Rucker, Kamryn Affolter, Natalie Affolter and Zachary Affolter as well as numerous great grandchildren; his sister, JoAnne (Seabold) Kirk and many nieces and nephews and their families.
Visitation will be held SATURDAY, January 17. 2026, 2:00pm to 4:00pm at the Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home, 624 Cherry St. E. (Rt. 93) Canal Fulton. A graveside service with military honors will be held Thursday, January 22, 2026, 11:00am at Canal Fulton Cemetery, W. Market St., Canal Fulton.
John was known as a charismatic guy who could bring joy to any room he walked into, a kind and passionate person who cared deeply for those he loved and would do anything for them, and a friend for life to all those who got to know him. He was incredibly intelligent and hard working yet always humble. He touched so very many lives throughout his time and will be deeply missed by so many people. He would want those who remember him to do so joyfully and not with sorrow. The world is a better place for having had him with us while we did.
