John Melvin Tippel Sr., 74 of Polk, PA formerly of Canal Fulton, passed away Sunday, September, 14, 2014 in Meadville, PA. Born on July 24, 1940 in Stark County to the late John and Esther (Grimminger) Tippel he had lived the past 23 years in Pennsylvania. Prior to Pennsylvania, John lived in Atwater, Hudson and Jackson Twp. He retired from General Motors with 23 years of service. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Kenneth and Norman Tippel. John is survived by his children Mike Tippel, Cindy Case, Davey Tippel, Stewart Lewis, Krista Lewis, Tara Tippel and John Tippel Jr; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; brothers David Tippel, Jim (Bonnie) Tippel; sisters-in-law Cathy,Linda and Karen Tippel; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held FRIDAY, September 19, 2014, 12pm Noon, at the Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home, 624 E. Cherry St. (Rt. 93) Canal Fulton. Burial at Sunset Hills Burial Park, Jackson Twp. Family and friends may call ONE HOUR PRIOR to service time at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials are requested to a charity of ones choice.
