Joseph H. Decker, 80 of Massillon died Sunday, August 7, 2011 at Mercy Medical Center, Canton. He was born March 21, 1931 in Chippewa Lake, Ohio and was a veteran of U S Marine Corps during Korea. He retired from Ashland Oil Co., Canton, Ohio after 18 years service. He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Decker; mother, Doris M. Decker; three brothers, Raymond Roy, Kenneth and Glen; three sisters, Mary Ann Parker, Faye Warren and Marie Millard. He is survived by his wife of 57 years Ollie M. Decker; three sons, John (Pat) Stipe of California, Chris (Lucille) Stipe of Louisiana and Joseph H. (Chrys) Decker, Jr. of Massillon; six grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, three brothers, Robert, Donald and Lester,; numerous nieces, nephews and friends. The family would like to thank the nurses on Nine Main at Mercy Medical Center for their kind and loving care. Funeral Service THURSDAY, 1:00 p.m. at the Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home, 624 E. Cherry Street, (Rt. 93, Canal Fulton) with Pastor Tim Leali, officiating. Burial with military honors by VFW #9795 at Canal Fulton Cemetery. Friends may call WEDNESDAY 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
