Julia V. (Humenyik) Stripe, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, passed away on Saturday, August 11, 2012. She was 84 years old. Julia graduated from Manchester High School in 1946 and worked tirelessly at both Sun Rubber Corporation and Roadway, Inc. in Copley, retiring at the age of 70. She was a fifty year member of the former Portage Lakes O.E.S. An avid gardener, Julia was devoted to her family and friends. She enjoyed trips to Mountaineer and Barberton Chicken. Born January 25, 1928 in Akron, Ohio, Julia was preceded in death by her husband Ernest and brother Stephen. She is survived by son Jim (Cheryl) Stripe, grandchildren Jennifer (Robert) Portillo and Candy (Richard) Burris. She leaves behind four great grandchildren - Paige, Ashley, Ella, and Beckett; sister-in-law, Geraldine Humenyik. The family would like to thank Sally, Sue, Angie and Carolyn, devoted caregivers and Rose Lane Health Center and VNS Hospice. Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home, 624 East Cherry Street, (Rt. 93, Canal Fulton). Family and friends may call Tuesday, August 14 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Eastern Star Service (TBA). Interment will be at Manchester Cemetery.
