Kathy D. Allen, 49 of Akron died unexpectedly Sunday, July 7, 2013 at her home. Kathy was a life resident of the Akron area, a 1981 graduate of Lake High School and a member of New Hope Chapel, a Church of Christ, Jackson Twp. She was preceded in death by her father, Benton C. "Bud" Allen and step-father, Bruce Hoover and is survived by her son, Aaron Smith; mother, Barbara Jo Hoover; sister, Heidi (Danny) Martinez; niece, Kelsie and nephew, Zeke. Funeral services will be WEDNESDAY, July 10, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at the New Hope Chapel, a Church of Christ; 9460 Portage St., Jackson Twp., OH with Dr. Kenneth Morrison, officiating. Friends may call at the CHURCH, WEDNESDAY 5:00-7:00 p.m. A private burial will be held at Uniontown, Greenlawn Cemetery.
