Obituary

Kenneth C. "Kenny" Williams, 71, of Canal Fulton, passed away Saturday, December 30, 2023, after a long battle with liver disease. Born July 3, 1952, to the late Jesse and Gladys (Ketler) Williams, he was a 1970 graduate of Northwest High School, where he was a member of the marching band and 1st chair trombone player in the concert band. Ken worked for 40 years in advertising sales.

Ken was best known for his musical career. He formed and joined many bands throughout the years. In his youth, He joined One Nation Underground and could often be heard practicing with his bandmates in "The Shop." His primary instrument was the Hammond organ. Ken was part of a traveling Contemporary Christian Music band, Jubal, who wrote and performed their songs to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ. He and his wife Rhonda also led worship at Ashland Assembly of God. Over the years, Ken was a member of various bands, including Fury, Just Friends, Ivy League, and Never Too Late. It was a joy to create music with friends and a special privilege to share the stage with his wife.

Along his musical journey, Ken learned sound engineering and owned recording studios. It's there that he recorded many singers, musicians, produced jingles, commercials, and various projects. He especially enjoyed his film scoring for an illustrated book by Michael Pearl called Good And Evil. Ken was rewarded for his creative musical work by receiving a Telly Award.

Ken was a man of many passions and didn't wait a moment to share them with others! Ken's first love was the Word of God which he studied every morning, surrounded by highlighted and worn bibles. He was constantly sharing the revelations the Lord would show him. Take a short walk down to the basement and you'll find another love of his, an 8.5 foot, handmade replica of Seaview, the Voyage to the Bottom Of the Sea's submarine which he made with his son, Aaron. Ken cherished his family time and the memories the Williams family made through the years will live on forever.

Ken is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Rhonda (Montgomery) Williams; children, Leah (Joshua) Wesley and Aaron (Vivian Hamrick) Williams; grandchildren, Justice, Jacob and Jordan; and numerous close friends.
