Obituary

Laddie Charles Wallish, age 80, of Canal Fulton, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 4, 2026. Born July 11, 1945, in Cleveland, Ohio, he was the son of the late Albert and Mildred (Tonkin) Wallish.

Laddie was a proud graduate of Nordonia High School and a devoted member of Orchard Hill Church. He built a long and dedicated career with the Chrysler Corporation, where he worked for 30 years before retiring at the remarkably young age of 49. His commitment to service extended far beyond his professional life—Laddie also volunteered as a fireman and EMT in Northfield, North Hampton, and Twinsburg, Ohio, as well as in Sparta, Tennessee, giving countless hours to help protect and support his community.

A man who found joy in simple, meaningful moments, Laddie loved working in his yard, tending to his flowers and spending time vacationing with his family. He felt most at peace by the ocean, especially during family trips to Oak Island, North Carolina, his favorite beach and a place where he found true rest and happiness.

Laddie is survived by his wife and the love of his life, Lynn, with whom he shared 18 wonderful years. He leaves behind his sons Scott (Debbie) and Brian (Sheryl); step‑son Charles (Lilly) Snyder; step‑daughters Wendy (Don) Hart and Karie (Kirk) Mumau; along with 11 grandchildren, 6 great‑grandchildren and 5 grandpups, all of whom brought him immense joy.

Family and friends may call on Monday, May 11, 2026, from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM at Swigart‑Easterling Funeral Home, followed by a service at 12:00 PM officiated by his grandson, Pastor Sean Snyder of Grace Church of Wooster. A celebration of life luncheon will be held afterward at Orchard Hill Church in Clinton, Ohio.

Laddie will be remembered for his kindness, his dedication to others, and the deep love he had for his family. His legacy lives on in the many lives he touched.
