Lester E. Decker, 87 of Akron, passed away Sunday, December 5, 2021. He was born August 22, 1934 in Chippewa Lake, OH to the late Henry and Doris (Kirk) Decker and was a Canal Fulton/Akron area resident all of his life. Lester was a proud Army veteran having served during Korea and retired in 1996 from Babcock and Wilcox after 27 1/2 years of service. He was a member of the East Akron Eagles (Aerie #2301), Canal Fulton VFW 9795 and the American Legion Post #209. Lester was a beautiful man who would help anyone in need without hesitation. He always had jokes to tell. Even in his final days, he was in good spirits and wouldn't complain. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wife, Mildred; daughter-in-law, Judy Aderhold; sisters, Mary Ann Parker, Esther Marie Millard and Faye Warren; brothers, Robert, Joseph, Kenneth and Glenn Decker. Lester is survived by his son, Roy Aderhold; grandchildren, Lisa (Gary), David (Darla) and Kelly (Josh); brother, Donald Decker and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held FRIDAY, December 10, 2021, 1:00pm at the Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home, 624 Cherry St. E (Rt. 93) Canal Fulton, Darryl Moulder officiating. Burial with military honors at Clinton Cemetery. Visitation Friday ONE HOUR PRIOR to service time at the funeral home.
