Lyle T. Randolph, 77, passed away Friday, May 3, 2024. Born January 14, 1947 to the late Thomas and Alice Randolph, he was a 1965 graduate of Northwest High School. While in high school Lyle started his boxing career. He fought as an amateur and professional from 1963-1975. When he retired from boxing he held five State Titles in the Lightweight Division and was inducted into the Summit County Boxing Hall of Fame. Lyle taught high school math at Canton South and was also a substitute for various Stark County high schools. He also worked for Golden United selling insurance and retired as a self-employed painter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Patty Murphy and Connie Hoops. Lyle is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Edith (Martin) Randolph; daughters, Christine Gruno, Denise Degeldere and Carrie (Mark) Gozdan; grandchildren, Jeremy Gruno, Barry Gruno, Alexis Gozdan and Mercedes Gozdan; great-grandchildren, Adelina Nichols, Christopher Bare and Kyle Bare; sisters, Sheila Douglas, Carol (Roger) Walsh, and Debbie (Mark) Berens; brother, Tim (Donna) Randolph and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held THURSDAY, May 9, 2024, 11:00am at the Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home, 624 Cherry St. E. (Rt 93) Canal Fulton with Jim Gindlesberger officiating. Burial at Clinton Cemetery. Visitation Wednesday, May 8, 2024, 5pm to 8pm at the funeral home.
