Magdalene Jean Hitt, 80, passed away peacefully on April 26, 2015 following a brief illness. She was known to many by her nickname, "Wimpy" and was a beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Magdalene will be tremendously missed by everyone that was lucky enough to know her. She was a selfless, hardworking person who lived her life to care for her family. She is survived by her four children, Charles Wicks, Dennis (Audrey) Wicks, Brenda Wolford, and James (Joanne) Valentine; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Martin Sorrell and Esther Sorell Mckee, and loving grandparents. Magdalene loved cooking, good food, her family and animals. Her little Chihuahua , Taco had been by her side for around the past fifteen years. Taco will again be by her side soon as she has fallen ill. Magdalene's 80th birthday was celebrated last week with a pizza party while watching the Cavs basketball game on TV with her family before she became ill. She was always surrounded by her family and was there to help when someone needed it. A private memorial service will be held at Swigart Easterling Funeral Home in Canal Fulton.
