Obituary

Marilyn A. Black, 81 of Manchester died Saturday, April 5, 2014 at Akron General Medical Center. She was born July 14, 1932 in Millersburg, Ohio to the late Joseph and Barbara Rupp, was a graduate of Millersburg High School and St Thomas School of Nursing She was a nurse at St. Thomas Hospital , Head nurse at Babcock & Wilcox , Van Buren office and a member of St. Francis DeSales Catholic Church , where she was active in the Women's Guild. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by son, Marc and is survived by her husband of more than 60 years, Don; son, Jeff (Deborah) Black; grandchildren, Stephanie and Michael Black; niece, Diane (Jim) Bray, great nephews, Jamie, Pat and Beau Bray; great niece, Jody Roosa; great, great nieces and nephews. Mass of the Christian Burial FRIDAY, 12 NOON at St. Francis DeSales Catholic Church, 4019 Manchester Road, Akron (Procession will form at the Church) with Fr. Louis Thomas officiating. Entombment at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Akron. Friends may call THURSDAY, 5p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home, 624 East Cherry St. (Rt. 93, Canal Fulton). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Francis DeSales Church or a charity of your choice.
