Obituary

Marilyn Deiss, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2025, in Tallmadge, at the age of 92. Born on October 17, 1932, in Akron, Marilyn lived a life filled with love, compassion, and warmth that touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

Her career spanned several decades, during which she dedicated herself to serving others through her work at Children's Medical Group, Akron General Medical Center, and Bath Manor Care. Marilyn's dedication to her work was driven by a compassionate heart and an unwavering commitment to helping those in need.

Marilyn, a vibrant and spirited individual, found joy in simple pleasures. She was an avid knitter and crafter, creating beautiful pieces that carried her signature touch of love. Her enthusiasm for social media kept her connected to family and friends, while her passion for puzzles challenged her mind and brought her great satisfaction. With a natural charm and warmth, she was a true social butterfly, always eager to engage in meaningful conversations that left lasting impressions on those around her.

Marilyn was preceded in death by her dear husband, Fritz Deiss, her cherished daughter, Jennifer Jo Deiss, and her beloved sister, Virginia Norris. She is survived by her loving daughters Becky Olson (Jeff), Carla Dobbins, Maria Deiss, and Abby Boser (Tom), as well as her favorite son Doug Deiss (Tari). Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, all of whom carry forward her enduring spirit and love.

Marilyn faced her battle with cancer with the same grace and determination that defined her life. While her physical presence will be deeply missed, her spirit lives on in the hearts of her family and friends. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, resilience, and love that inspires all who knew her.

In remembering Marilyn, we celebrate a life well-lived and honor her indomitable spirit that continues to inspire us to live with kindness and courage. Per her wishes cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
