Martin Fredrick Shiplett, 77 of Canton died Monday, May 19, 2014. Martin was born June 4, 1936 in Somerset, Ohio to the late Homer & Mary (Stalter) Shiplett. A veteran of the US Marine Corp., he was a meat cutter for 15 years, worked at the Canal Fulton True Value for 18 years and Walmart for 8 years. He loved his family, he was one of thirteen children. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Bob, Harold, Tyke, Tom and Leo; sisters, Mary, Rita and Betty. He is survived by his sons, Richard (Tammy) Shiplett, Alan Shiplett and Marty Shiplett; Grandchildren, Cara (Aaron) Rich and Jim Shiplett, Sierra, Savanna, Shianne, Slade and Soren Shiplett. brothers, Jim and Pete; Sisters, Dorothy and Eileen; nieces and nephews. Funeral Service FRIDAY, 11:00 a.m. at the Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home, 624 E. Cherry Street, (Rt. 93, Canal Fulton) with Fr. Kevin McCaffrey officiating. Friends may call THURSDAY, 4 pm to 7 pm at the funeral home, Burial with Military Honors 9:30 a.m. May 27th at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman.
