Mary L. Berens, 91 of Jackson Township died Friday, July 6, 2012. She was a resident of the Massillon -North Lawrence area all of her life and was a graduate of Washington High School, Class of 1939. She retired from the Tuslaw School District and was an active lifetime member of Chapel of the Cross United Methodist Church. She served eight years with Earl Bailey Evangelistic Ministries and was a volunteer at Rose Lane Health Center for more than 30 years. Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Dale Berens; daughter-in-law, Deena Berens; sisters, Verda Zimmerman and Hazel Bachman and brother, John Lawrence. She is survived by her children, Jim (Louisa) Berens, Penny Wagner and Mark (Judy) Berens; nine grandchildren, ten great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; fiancee, Bob Longworth. Funeral Service WEDNESDAY, 11 a.m. at the Chapel of the Cross United Methodist Church, 14411 Orrville Street, North Lawrence, Ohio with Pastor Ignatius David officiating. Burial Newmans Creek Cemetery. Friends may call TUESDAY, 5-8 p.m. AT THE CHURCH and at the church Wednesday one hour prior to services. Memorials may be made to the Chapel of the Cross United Methodist Church.
