Melba (Fischnich) Lerch, 89, of Canal Fulton died Tuesday, Dec. 10, 2013. She was born April 16, 1924 in Canal Fulton and was a life resident . She was a 1942 graduate of Canal Fulton High School, a charter member of the Auxiliary for the Canal Fulton VFW #9795 and was a member of SS Philip & James Catholic Church, Canal Fulton. She devoted her life in the care of her husband and family. The Family offers their heartfelt gratitude to Community Hospice of Tuscarawas, Stark and Carroll Counties, especially Angela, who became our own Angel and treated Mom as if she was her own mother. Melba was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, James Lerch and her parents and she was the last of six children. She is survived by her son Bill (JoAnn) Lerch; daughters, Becky (Bill) Boles, LuAnne Casto and Maureen Lerch; Seven Grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. Special Friends, Anna Rohr, Vikki Roberts and Paula Hurst. Funeral Service SATURDAY, 11:00 a.m. at the Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home, 624 E. Cherry St. (Rt. 93, Canal Fulton) with Fr. Kevin McCaffrey officiating. Friends may call FRIDAY, 6-8pm at the funeral home. Final Resting place Canal Fulton Cemetery.
