Michael Dean Lautenschleger, 48 of Canal Fulton, passed away peacefully on December 13, 2016 at Mercy Medical Center in Canton, Ohio with his loving sister at his side.

Michael is survived by his loving children, Elise and Evan; his father, Owen Dale Lautenschleger, Sr. of Canal Fulton, Ohio; his siblings, Owen Dale (Cathy) Lautenschleger, Jr. of Solon, Ohio and Renee Ann (Jerry) Morehart of Massillon, Ohio; his former spouse and mother of his children, Laura Jean Lautenschleger of Wadsworth, Ohio; his nieces, Jacki, Jamie, Traci, Dana; and his nephews, Jerry and James. He is preceded in death by his mother, Kay Lynn Lautenschleger of Canal Fulton, Ohio.

Michael was born in Painesville, OH on December 19, 1967 to Owen and Kay Lautenschleger. He graduated from Northwest High School in Canal Fulton, Ohio in 1986 where he played basketball and baseball. He subsequently graduated from Marietta College in 1990 obtaining a degree in Business Management and finishing his basketball career. He then married his high school sweetheart, Laura Frost, in 1991. The couple welcomed two beautiful children, Elise and Evan, into their lives. Mike had a thriving career with Babcock and Wilcox in Barberton, Ohio for 21 years. He enjoyed sports, hunting, the outdoors and often practiced his marksmanship at the local ranges. Mike was a generous and witty person with a great sense of humor and was very passionate about his children.

A memorial service will be held on SATURDAY, DECEMBER 17, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at the Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home, 624 Cherry St. E (Rte. 93) Canal Fulton. Friends may call at the funeral home SATURDAY 1:00 p.m. until time of service.
