Owen C, Vance, 85 of Canal Fulton, passed away Sunday, January 7, 2018 at the Laurels of Massillon. Born on July 3, 1932 in Flintstone, MD to the late Ora and Kate (Day) Vance, he was a proud US Army Veteran serving during the Korean War, retired in 1994 from P.P.G. Industries and was a member of St. John Lutheran Church. Owen was a good husband, father, grandfather and friend. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Eleanor Jean Vance; son, David Vance; numerous brothers and sisters. Owen is survived by his sons, Gene (Mellanie) Vance and Gary Johnson; four grandchildren, Spencer, Chase, Tiffiny and Lacey; brother, Allen Vance; sister, Virginia Shotzberger; numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held THURSDAY, 3:00pm at the Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home, 624 E. Cherry St. (Rt. 93) Canal Fulton, Pastor Cindy Striker, officiating. Private burial at Canal Fulton Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday 1:00pm to 3:00pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials in Owen's name can be made to Canal Fulton VFW #9795, 257 N.
