IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Peter Charles
Bobick
February 17, 1933 – May 11, 2024
Peter "Pete" Charles Bobick, 91, of Canal Fulton, passed away peacefully on May 11, 2024. He was born February 17, 1933 in Cleveland, Ohio to Peter P. and Margaret (Balog) Bobick. He was the oldest of three siblings: his sister Margaret "Peggy" Meyer, and brother Raymond Bobick.
Pete married his beloved wife Ruth Ilona (Gerlach) Bobick on July 5, 1958, and they spent 65 happy years together. They met at his sister's birthday party while he was on leave from his service in the U.S. Air Force. Pete spent 4 years in the Air Force as an aircraft mechanic, where he served for a time in Okinawa Japan during the Korean War.
Pete spent many years working for Terex where he was a machinist building earth moving equipment, and then became a Quality Inspector for the government. Throughout his lifetime he lived in Brecksville, Ohio; Englewood and Venice, Florida; and settled to enjoy his retirement in Canal Fulton, Ohio.
Pete was a devoted cyclist, and biked nearly every day for 50 years, as long as the weather cooperated. While living in Brecksville he took great advantage of the beautiful Cleveland Metroparks, biking along the towpath and spending several years as a volunteer for the Brecksville Reservation. He also had a fond love of history, reading, and movies and would always have a great recommendation for you. His favorite movie was Casablanca.
Pete is survived by his wife, Ruth (Gerlach) Bobick; his children, Nancy (John) Ecenbarger, and Peter A. (Nancy Scholz) Bobick; and his grandchildren, Lauren (Chris) Kujawa, and Eric (Nichole) Tozer.
There will be a private memorial at a later date. If you would like to make a donation in Pete's honor, please donate to Crossroads Hospice Charitable Foundation: www.crhcr.org/donate . The family kindly requests no flowers.
