Raymond Broughton, 97 formerly of Manchester passed away Sunday, September 26, 2021. Ray was born January 3, 1924 to Arthur and Mary Broughton in Barberton, Ohio. He attended Barberton High School and graduated in 1942 and married Barbara Beals in 1945. Ray had four children. His first child, Don Carl died shortly after birth. He is survived by daughters, Kay Broughton of Geneva, Nancy Broughton of Barberton and Ruth McClellan (Gary) of Mountain View, Arkansas. He also has two grandchildren, Robert Locke and Laura VanArsdel; four step-grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Ray was employed at Barberton Hardware for 15 years. He was co-owner of Laughlins Bookstore for 34 years. He started the Uniques unicycle group. He also enjoyed gardening and wood working. He was a member of the Manchester Christian Church. Funeral Services will be held THURSDAY, September 30, 2021, 1:00pm at the Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home, 624 Cherry St. E. (Rt. 93) Canal Fulton, Rob Kasler officiating. Burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Visitation ONE HOUR PRIOR to service time at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Stark County Humane Society, 5100 Peach St NE.
