Raymond A. Kreitz, 89 of Barberton formerly of the City of Green died Saturday, May 5, 2012 at Bath Manor. Raymond was born in Akron, Ohio and was a life resident of the area. He retired in 1983 from the Firestone Tire & Rubber Co. after 40 years service, was an Army veteran of World War II, where he was awarded the Purple Heart and was a member of the D.A.V. in Akron. The family wishes to thank the staff at Bath Manor for their kind and loving care of Raymond. Preceded in death by his son Ronald E. Kreitz in 1990 , he is survived by his wife of 65 years, Lorna J. (Uplinger) Kreitz; sons, Al Kreitz and William Kreitz; daughter, Kathy Burns; six grandchildren, Mandy, Steven, Jennifer, Sarah, Cory and Curtis; three great grandchildren, Carter, Jefferson and Logan. Funeral service WEDNESDAY, 11:00 a.m. at the Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home, 624 E. Cherry St. (Rte. 93, Canal Fulton) and where friends may call WEDNESDAY from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Burial with military honors by Massillon American Legion # 221 at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens.
