Col. Floyd Roger Lockhart
June 23, 1932 – August 16, 2025
Floyd "Lucky" Lockhart (Lt. Col. Ret.) passed away in Yukon, OK on Aug. 16, 2025. He was born June 23, 1932, in Sinks Grove, WV to Robert and Riva Lockhart. The family moved to Akron, OH in 1947 where he graduated from Central High School. He joined the Navy in 1951 where he was an aircraft electrician. He transferred to the USAF to begin pilot training. He became an air rescue helicopter pilot. As a child it was his dream to fly planes. Floyd retired from the USAF as a Lt. Col in 1974 from Seymour Johnson AFB as an airfield manager. He served in Japan, Okinawa, Korea, England, and two tours in Vietnam, and various stateside bases. After retirement, the family moved to OH. He went to work for the USPS. He retired from the Ravenna post office with 23 years of service. Floyd was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Frank and Fred; sister, Hazel Swain and grandson, Jason Huth. He is survived by his wife Becky, children, Laura (Richard) Powell, Sheri Lockhart and Andre' (Jazz) Lockhart; stepdaughter, Julie (Josh) Rodriquez, stepson, Andrew (Teresa) Casto, 15 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He was a member of the Pedro Rescue Helicopter Association, Order of the Purple Heart, USAF Helicopter Association, and also a member of the Mobile AL Masonic Lodge. In keeping with his wish's cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held MONDAY, October 13, 2025, 11:00am at the Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home, 624 Cherry St. E. (Rt. 93) Canal Fulton with Rev. Dr. David Pepplar Sr. officiating. Visitation from 10:30am until time of service. Burial to follow at Canal Fulton Cemetery. Please no flowers. Memorial donations may be made to a veteran's charity of your choice.
