Albert Urbanek
May 21, 1929 – October 17, 2016
Richard A. Urbanek, Sr. "Dick", 87 of Canal Fulton, passed away unexpectedly after a brief illness. Born on May 21, 1929 in Bronx, NY to the late Stanley and Helen (Trzcinski) Urbanek, he had been a resident of Canal Fulton for 52 years retiring from B&W after 45 years of service. Dick was an active member of SS Philip and James Catholic Church where he was involved with the Holy Name Society, Bingo and was a 4th Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus. He was a proud Army Veteran having served during the Korean War. Dick was always smiling, a friend to all and always fantastic. Most importantly he loved spending time with family, friends and being outdoors.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Richard Albert Urbanek, Jr. Dick is survived by his loving wife, Mildred Joan (Schaefer) Urbanek with whom he celebrated 62 years of marriage on October 2nd; daughters, Susan Marie (Troy) Dalton, Patrice Ann (Gary) Taylor; son, Kenneth John Urbanek; grandsons, Jacob and Josh; one niece and one nephew.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held,FRIDAY 4:OOpm, at SS Philip and James Catholic Church, 412 High St. North, Canal Fulton, Fr. Kevin McCaffrey celebrant. Burial at Canal Fulton Cemetery. CALLING HOURS THURSDAY , 5pm to 7pm, AT THE CHURCH. In lieu of flowers memorials in Dick's name can be made to the church.
