Richard L. Spence (Tom), 76, of New Franklin, passed away July 6, 2023, surrounded by his family. He was born in Akron, Ohio on May 21, 1947 to the late Richard and Lois (Godbey) Spence.

In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his sister Kathryn Woods and his son in law Stephen Cripple.

Tom is survived by his loving wife of nearly 58 years, Kay; daughters, Chris (Terry) Patterson, Colleen (Marty) Salchak, Veronica Cripple, Maggie (John) Kirchenbauer; eleven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and many other extended family members close to his heart.

Tom was a faithful follower of Jesus Christ and was a member of Horizon Christian Fellowship. He had an exceptional work ethic and spoke highly of his management team and co workers at TNT Machine Co where he was employed for the last twenty years. Loving any adventure that would take him outdoors, his greatest adventures always included his family, especially his grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held TUESDAY, July 11, 2023, 11:00am at the Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home, 624 Cherry St. E. (Rt. 93) Canal Fulton with Pastor Jason Bowman officiating. Burial at Manchester Cemetery. Visitation Monday, 5pm to 8pm at the funeral home.
