Rita E. (Volk) Shannon, 84, passed away Thursday, November 7, 2024. Born April 21, 1940 to the late Richard and Bernice (Brown) Volk, she graduated from Northwest High School and worked for the Canal Fulton Library. Rita enjoyed spending time with family and friends and was always smiling and laughing. Rita never met a stranger and enjoyed engaging in conversation.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. Shannon and daughter, Kelly Shannon. Rita is survived by her daughter, Cindy Pantea; grandchildren, Erika Bugakova and Jamie Pantea; great-grandchildren, Alisa and Kolya Bugakova; brother, Ron Volk; niece, Emily Volk; sisters-in-law, Kathy Shannon, Mary Donnelly; and best friend, Linda Essinger.

A family service will be held Friday, November 15, 2024, 1:00pm at Sunset Hills Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations in Rita's name can be made to a charity of your choice.
