Robert Willis Downs, 95; passed away on Tuesday, September 10, 2024. He was born in Barberton to the late Joseph and Ethel Downs. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Robert was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He retired from Bridgestone after 30 years of service. In retirement he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and everything about history. He was a devoted Christian at Legacy Christian Church and served as an adult Sunday school teacher for 45 years. Robert was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years Juanita; son, David Downs; daughter, Kimberly Workman-Downs; Daughter-in-law Deborah Downs; brother Richard Downs; brothers-in-law Donald and Dale Cole; sister-in-law Mary Lou Cole. Robert is survived by his son, Terry Downs; granddaughters, Nicole and Heather Workman, Holly and Amanda Anderson; great-granddaughters, Katie and Julie Anderson, Kimber Lynn Teremy; sister, Joanne Downs Fuller. Funeral Services will be held TUESDAY, September 17, 2024, 12:00pm (Noon) at the Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home, 624 Cherry St. E. (Rt. 93) Canal Fulton. Visitation ONE HOUR PRIOR to the service. Private family interment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
