Rodney Lee Ellyson, 68 of Canal Fulton, passed away Tuesday, October 28, 2025. He was born June 14, 1957 in Akron to the late Edgar and Inez (Stout) Ellyson. Rod worked for Genie as an Electronic Technician in the engineering group for 19 years and was a proud US Air Force Veteran.

In his younger years when he was able to he enjoyed camping, fishing, hiking, playing pool and golfing. Later in life he enjoyed playing video games and also had a love for Rock N Roll music.

He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Rod is survived by his loving wife, Lora (Morgan) Ellyson; daughter, Kristy (Eric) Rector; grandson, Max Rector; sisters, Karen Ellyson and Sandi Yeager; nephews, Alan Yeager and Brandyn Yeager.

Visitation will be held SATURDAY, November 1, 2025, 1:00pm to 3:00pm at the Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home, 624 Cherry St. E. (Rt. 93) Canal Fulton. Private burial will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.
