Rose Catherine (Smith) Esler, 89 formerly of Clinton passed away Friday, Feb. 26, 2016. Rose was a life resident of the Akron/ Clinton area, had retired as the secretary for the Northwest Intermediate School with 25 years service and was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Clinton. Preceded in death by her husband, Richard B. Esler in 1976; parents, Roger and Elsie (Seuss) Smith; sister, Elizabeth Swanson; Granddaughter, Katherine Esler. She is survived by daughter, Catherine (John Nelson) Mehl; son, Dr. Richard (Patricia Coyle) Esler; grandchildren, Shannon (Jay) Nagy,, Adam (Kristie) Wade, Gwen (Derek) Zimmer, Dr. Lisa (Shawn) Gaines and Richard Esler; great grandchildren, Jonathon and Aaron Salazar; special friend and caregiver, Erica McCrory. Funeral service WEDNESDAY 1:00 pm at Trinity Lutheran Church, 7595 Middle St., Clinton, OH with Pastor Julie Thoms officiating and burial in Clinton Cemetery. Friends may call TUESDAY 5-7 pm at the Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home, 624 E. Cherry St. (Rte. 93) Canal Fulton and Wednesday one hour prior to time of service at the Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Rose's name to Trinity Lutheran Church in Clinton or the Gilcrest Center in Doylestown, Ohio.
