Roy M. Weidner, 94 of Canal Fulton died Thursday, Dec.16, 2010 at his home. Roy had been a resident of Canal Fulton since 1940, moved to Tappan Lake in 1980 and returned to Canal Fulton in 1998. He retired from Massillon Steel Castings as a foreman and was a self-employed pattern maker. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Canal Fulton where he served as a Deacon and as Sunday School Superintendent. He was also a member of Clinton Lodge #47 (Formerly Elliott #514) F&AM and the former Canal Fulton #180 OES. He was a longtime member of the Canal Fulton Volunteer Fire Dept., where he held the rank of Captain. Preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Signe G. Weidner in 2002; a sister, June; and a brother, Kenneth. He is survived by daughters, Mary Ellen Hiltbrand and Deborah Louise Bloom; grandchildren, Rick A. (Stacey) Hiltbrand, Patricia A. (Mike) Finefrock and Nicholas M. (Tiffani) Volk; great grandchildren, Joshua, Benjamin and Bethany Hiltbrand, Katelyn and Juliana Finefrock and Preston Volk. Funeral service SUNDAY 4:00 p.m. at the St. John Lutheran Church, 336 W. Market St., Canal Fulton with Pastor Michelle Nickodemus officiating. Private burial Canal Fulton Union Cemetery. Friends may call AT THE CHURCH, SUNDAY 2 to 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to the Church.
