Russell Gorday, 87, passed away Sunday, Feb. 7, 2016. He was born in Akron, OH in 1928 and spent most of his life in the Coventry Twp. area. Russell retired from the Burger Iron Company in 1990 with 34 years of service as a machinist. He was a member of SS Philip and James Catholic Church since moving to the Canal Fulton, OH area in 2013. Russell was a loving husband and father, who worked hard for his family. He was an avid gardener and loved planting flowers. Russell was preceded in death by his parents Minnie (Winitaka) and Benedict Gorday; brothers Benedict and George, as well as his nephew Gerald. He is survived by his wife MaryAnn (Kondik), daughter and son-in-law, Theresa and William Protzman, daughter Laura Trissel; grandchildren Sarah, Ashley and Ty; also several nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will held, SATURDAY, February 13, 2016, 12:00PM Noon, at SS Philip and James Catholic Church, 412 High St. N., Canal Fulton, OH, Fr. Kevin McCaffrey, celebrant.
