Ruth Ilona (Gerlach) Bobick, 85, of Canal Fulton, passed away peacefully on November 17, 2024. She was born January 16, 1939 in Cleveland, Ohio to Anthony and Helen (Miklos) Gerlach. Ruth met her beloved husband, Peter Charles Bobick, when he was home on leave with the Air Force in 1955, and they married on July 5, 1958. They enjoyed 65 years together, until his passing in May. The family is comforted to know they are now reunited. Ruth spent many years as a homemaker before taking a job as a secretary at The Illuminating Company in downtown Cleveland.  She worked there for 10 years before retiring.  Ruth was a long time resident of Brecksville, Ohio. She and her husband spent many winters living in Englewood and later Venice, Florida, before settling in Canal Fulton, Ohio for 20 years. Ruth loved to play cards, garden, and feed the birds and ducks that would visit her yard.  She had a talent for making anyone feel welcome in her home, and would make sure everyone had a good laugh and plenty to eat.  Ruth's family will deeply miss her dry sense of humor and quick wit, and gathering at her house to chat over a cup of coffee or glass of wine. Ruth is preceded in death by her husband, Peter Bobick, and survived by her sister, Susan (Gerlach) Valenta; her children, Nancy (John) Ecenbarger, and Peter A. (Nancy Scholz) Bobick; her grandchildren, Lauren (Chris) Kujawa, and Eric (Nichole) Tozer; and her great granddaughter, Lilliann Tozer. A private memorial will be held at a later date.
