Ruth V. Nicholas, 90 of Canal Fulton died Friday, Feb. 24, 2012. She was born August 23, 1921 to the Late Jacob & Laura Bradford. Ruth graduated from Marietta High School and married Paul Nicholas, who preceded her in death in 1995. They moved to Canton, Ohio in the early 1940's, then Canal Fulton in 1958 and stayed in Canal Fulton for the rest of her life. She worked for Ross Orderless Cleaners in Canton and then Dick Ries Meat Market, Canal Fulton and retired in 1990 after 30 years. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Massillon. Ruth's two favorite things to do were to spend time with her family and to cook!!! Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, William "Bill; Burl; Clifford"Jack"; and Carl Bradford of Marietta and Raymond "Ray" Bradford of Massillon. Sisters, Mrs George (Edna) Bishman and Mrs. Kenneth (Hazel) McAtee of Marietta and Genevieve Bradford of Columbus. She is survived by her sons, Michael (Donna) Nicholas and Daniel Nicholas both of Canal Fulton; Four Grandchildren, Mrs. Terry (Shelly) Hogan of Uniontown, Mrs. John (Denise) Birkbeck of Massillon, Dustin (Stephanie) Nicholas of Louisville and Mrs Bruce (DeAnna) Rohr of Canal Fulton. Six Great Grandchildren, Ryan and Evan Hogan, Davinee and Dominick Rohr and Paige and Peyton Nicholas. Sister-in-law, Mrs Jack (Betty) Bradford of Marietta. Funeral Service will be held TUESDAY, at 11 a.m at the Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home, 624 E. Cherry St. (Rt. 93, Canal Fulton) with Pastor Elaina Styblo officiating. Burial Newman Cemetery, Visitation MONDAY from 5-7 p.m. and TUESDAY One hour prior to time of services at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials made be made to the Faith Lutheran Church, 107 6th St. SW, Massillon, OH 44647 for the math and reading programs.
