Obituary

Sally Lou Kurtz, 83, passed away in her home on June 25, 2012, with her loving family at her side. Sally was born in Canal Fulton to Deltha and Walter Schroeder. She was a lifelong member of St. John Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday school and sang soprano in the choir. From 1947-1948, Sally was a member of George "Red" Bird and His Musical Majorettes, affiliated with the Cleveland Browns. Along with her parents, Sally was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, James Thomas Kurtz. She is survived by her sons Bradley (Janet) of Marshallville, Jonathan (Christy) of Dayton, Andrew (Michele) of Huron, and Jeremy (Deborah) of Canal Fulton, and by her grandchildren Nathan, Jesse (Rachel), James, Hannah, Lydia, Renata, Priya, Alpana, Madelyne, Emma, and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her sisters, Lelia Joy "Sis" Rohr, and Ruth Ann (Dale) Minks. The family will receive friends on Friday, June 29, from five to eight p.m. at Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home, 624 Cherry St. E., Canal Fulton. A funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 am at St. John Lutheran Church, 336 West Market Street, Canal Fulton with Pastor Lynn Williamson officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Sally's honor to St. John Lutheran Church, Canal Fulton.
