In Loving Memory

Sherman “Joey” Gandee, a devoted husband, father, Papaw, and friend, passed away after several months of post-cancer complications.

He was the loving husband of Anna Marie for 51 years. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, family, and countless memories. One of his greatest joys was being a father to Jaimee and Daniel. He wasn’t simply their dad—he was their best friend. He and his children talked nearly every day, shared countless dinners, and could always be found joking, teasing, and laughing together. Their bond was one of a kind, and the memories they created together will be treasured forever.

He was a proud Papaw to his two grandsons, Ryder and Camden, whom he adored beyond words. He loved playing with them, making them laugh, and teasing them during video calls when he couldn’t be there in person in Oregon. No matter the distance, he always found a way to make his grandsons feel his love.

Professionally, he spent many years as Vice President of Human Resources at Steere Enterprises, a career he genuinely enjoyed. He cared deeply about the employees he worked with and took great pride in his work. He lived by his favorite motto, “Every day I’m hustlin’.” And he certainly did. He was always on the move—type A, incredibly organized, and rarely sitting still. He approached everything he did with energy, determination, and purpose.

One of his greatest passions was fishing. He was an avid fisherman who enjoyed participating in bass tournaments, but his favorite fishing memories were the ones spent with family. He loved fishing the rivers of Oregon with his son, Daniel, and spending time on the lakes of Ohio with his son-in-law/best bud, Justin. For him, fishing was never just about catching fish—it was about being outdoors, spending time with the people he loved, and making memories that would last a lifetime.

He leaves behind a family who will miss his laughter, his teasing, his constant motion, his incredible organization, and, most of all, his love. His absence will be felt in every family dinner, every fishing trip, every phone call, and every moment that reminds them of him.

We love you, Dad. You are gone too soon. You will forever be our husband, our dad, our Papaw, and our best friend. Your memory will live on in all of us, and we will carry your love with us every day.

He was preceded in death by his father, Sherman Gandee Sr. and his mother, Helen Snipes (Gandee). He leaves behind his wife, Anna Marie Gandee; two children, Jaimee Gandee-Bulich (Justin) and Daniel Gandee (Katherine); grandchildren, Ryder and Camden Gandee; step-grandson, Karson Bulich; brother, Kevin Gandee; sister, Shelle Shaikh; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Per his wishes cremation has taken place. A private celebration of life will be held at the convenience of the family.
