Shirley A. Fites, 87 of Canal Fulton, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, November 2, 2023. Born February 6, 1936 to the late Peter and Anna (Neidert) Schilling, she was a New Franklin/Canal Fulton resident most of her life. Shirley's life was deeply rooted in her faith and loved to serve the Lord. She was a member of Grace Bible Church where she was very active in women's ministry, being a youth leader and was a member of the choir. Shirley enjoyed crafts, sewing, cooking, and writing cards of encouragement for personal and community members. She volunteered with the Clinton Applefest, Operation Christmas Child and many other community and church organizations. Most importantly she loved spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David L. Fites; brothers, Peter, Richard, Kenneth and John Schilling. Shirley is survived by her children, Karen (Shane) Myers, David (Kristine) Fites, Ellen Fites, Elaine (Steve) Thompson and Sara (Victor) Colaianni; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren, 4 great-greatgrandchildren with one more on the way; brother, Bob Schilling; sister, Elizabeth Swisher; numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held SUNDAY, November 5, 2023, 4:30pm at Grace Bible Church, 5781 Manchester Rd., New Franklin, Pastor Cary Duckett officiating. Visitation Sunday, prior to the service from 2:30pm to 4:30pm at the church. Private burial at Manchester Cemetery.
