Steve R. McClain, 80 of New Franklin, passed away peacefully in his sleep at home Tuesday, May 4, 2021. He was born August 28, 1940 in Crawford, WV to the late James and Edith Victoria (Davis) McClain, had been a New Franklin area resident most of his life and retired from Goodyear in 1990 after 25 years of service. Steve was a proud US Army Veteran having served in Korea. He was an avid hunter, had a generous heart and was a friend to everyone he met. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Karen Nichols Giovacchini and niece, Wendy Sindelar. Steve is survived by his children, Kristen (Mike) Smyers and Jake (Kim Gupta) McClain; grandchildren, Jordan and Reagan Smyers; sisters, Judy (Richard) Price and Lindsey McClain. Funeral Services will be held TUESDAY, May 11, 2021, 11:00am at Manchester Christian Church, 930 W. Nimisila Rd., New Franklin, Rev. Tim Lewis officiating. Burial with military honors at Manchester Cemetery. Calling Hours Monday, 4pm to 7pm at the church.
