Susan Grace (Covert) Chappelear, 76, passed away Saturday, October 12, 2024. Born March 8, 1948 to the late Carl and Bette Covert, she was a 1966 graduate of Green High School and retired from Wells Fargo after 33 years of service.

Susan loved her dogs and was the best doggy mom ever. She was a member of the ZTA sorority and a highly active member of the Snellville, GA community where she served the city and helped start their farmer's market. She loved to bake, cook and watch all her favorite sporting teams. She was also a big Gumby fan which all of her nieces and nephews adored.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Bruce Covert and nephew, Adam Ports. Susan is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Rick Chappelear; siblings, Corky (Kathy) Covert, Kevin (Marci) Covert and Lori (Mike) Ports; sister-in-law, Jerri (Bob) Whitlow; niece, Holli Frank; nephews, Jeff Covert, Todd Covert, Matthew Ports, Jason Covert, Rob Whitlow, Steve Whitlow, and Barry Whitlow; along with  many other great nieces and nephews who she adored and many numerous extended family and friends.

Per her wishes cremation has taken place and no services will be held. Memorial donations in Susan's name can be made to the Adam Charles Ports Foundation, 4735 Mallard Pond Dr., Akron, OH 44333.
