Theresa Kay (Hickman) Smith went home to be with her Lord and Savior on October 4, 2024. After a four-year battle with meningioma brain tumors, Theresa is at peace. Theresa was born on November 22, 1947, in Harrisville, West Virginia to Bernard and Mary Christine (Layfield) Hickman. She graduated from Zanesville High School, served her family for many years as a homemaker, and later worked as a receptionist for Sports Medicine Grant / OhioHealth. Theresa was active in her community as a member of Derby United Methodist Church, a 4-H advisor, and a parent volunteer with her children's school activities.   Theresa enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening, sewing, cooking, and spending time with her family. Theresa was preceded in death by her parents, Bernard and Mary Christine Hickman. She is survived by sisters Ernestine James and Christine Anders, children, Kester (Tracey) Smith of Eldorado, Veronica (Jeff) Styer of Wooster, and Martha (Greg) Terhune of Cuyahoga Falls, 13 grandchildren, one great-granddaughter, many cousins, and friends. A "Celebration of Life Service" will be held at Derby United Methodist Church on November 2, 2024 at 11:00am.
