Vera Riggs Wise age 91 beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away peacefully, Monday, July 25, 2011 at Gaslite Villa Health Care. She was born March 4, 1920 to Otto and Cora Johnson in Rinard Mills, Ohio and graduated from Bloomfield High School. A resident of Canal Fulton, Ohio for over 60 years, she was employed by Healthhaven Rest Home as an LPN for 18 years. Vera was an active and faithful member of over 50 years of the Daughters of America , a member of the Northwest Stark Senior Center and Legacy Christian Church. She enjoyed her flower gardens and baking cookies for everyone. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, one sister, foster child, Bobbie Morgan and husbands John Riggs (1975) and Claude Wise (1989), daughter-in-law, Kathy Riggs (2010). She is survived by four children, Dwight (Sandy) Riggs of Marietta, Ohio; Ron Riggs of Lakeland, Florida; Helen (Duane) Weygandt of Canal Fulton, Ohio and Karen (Robert) Bennett of Brandon, Florida; eight grandchildren Dianna Ross, Rhonda Grantham, Rachael Short, Robin Lopez, Rebecca Hamilton, Melissa Smith, Michael Riggs and Jeffrey Weygandt; eleven great grandchildren, Kara & Michael Ross, Tyler & Taylor Grantham, Spencer Short, Emily, Ashley & Katherine Lopez, Luke & Lily Hamilton and Wesley Weygandt. Her smiling face and great sense of humor will be missed by all. The family wishes to thank the staff at Gaslite Villa for the loving and compassionate care that they provided on a daily basis and Mercy Hospice who made her comfortable on her final journey. Thanks also to the faithful friends and prayer partners at the Clinton Church of Christ/Legacy Christian. Funeral Services will be held THURSDAY 11 a.m. at the Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home, 624 E. Cherry St. (Rte.93) Canal Fulton with Rev. Rod Grabski officiating and burial in Canal Fulton Union Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home WEDNESDAY 6-8 p.m. and where a D of A Service will be held Wednesday 5:45 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Legacy Christian Church, P.O.
