Rev. Vernon E. Bailey "Buddy", 86 of Canal Fulton, passed away Sunday, February 25, 2018. Born July 7, 1931 in Poe, WV to the late Daniel and Myrtle (Ganoe) Bailey, he had been a traveling Evangelist throughout Ohio and West Virginia, was a machinist at Parker Hannifin and an Army veteran. Vernon was an avid fisherman and most of all he loved God, his family and people; he was always willing to help anyone.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Freda Durham and Betty Poynter. Buddy is survived by his loving wife, Betty Joyce (Griffith) Bailey; children, Danny (Mary) Bailey, James (Jeannie) Bailey, Cathy (Noor) Sabbagh and Lisa Bailey; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Catherine Casto and Nancy Murphy.

The family would like to thank the nursing staff of Summa Barberton 1 West for their care of Vernon the past two weeks.

Calling Hours will be held SATURDAY, 10am to 11:30am at the Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home, 624 E. Cherry St. (Rt. 93) Canal Fulton. Burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park will immediately follow, Pastor Jeff Ball, officiating. Military Honors will be conducted by Firestone VFW #3383.
