Obituary

Vernon Edward Kraft, 83, peacefully passed on Friday, March 10, 2017 in the comfort of his home. He leaves his wife, partner and best friend of 64 wonderful years, Jacquelyn (Marsh) Kraft; his sisters, Joanne Rehm, Rachel (Robert) Pinkerton, and Florence "Sis" (Allen) Featheringham; his daughters, Dianna (Robert) Ohling and Tracy (Stacy DeRemer) Kraft; his son, Joseph (Angie Kantner) Kraft; his grandsons, Scot (Sandi) Phillips, Devyn (Courtney) Phillips, Kelsey (Andrea) Phillips, Quinton Kraft; his granddaughter Natalia Kraft; his two great-grandchildren, Lilith and Owen; and his many loving friends.The son of Quinton and Marian Kraft, he was born in Navarre and raised in Massillon. After graduating from Washington High School, in 1951, he married his high school sweetheart in 1952. He joined the Army in 1953 and actively served for two years. Upon retiring from Republic Steel after 40 years of service as a steel worker, he worked maintenance at St. Jacob Lutheran Church, where he truly relished all of the friendships he made. Mr. Kraft had a passion for animals but the true joy in his life was his family. Mr. Kraft was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. A memorial service will be held at St. Jacob Lutheran Church, 8697 Mudbrook St. NW on Saturday March 18, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jacob Lutheran Church.

His compassion, kindheartedness and sense of humor will forever be cherished by those who knew him.
