Virgil Bloomfield, 90 of Clinton, passed away Monday, December 25, 2023. Born December 15, 1933 to the late Harvey and Anna Bloomfield; he was a proud US Army veteran having served during the Korean War and retired from Babcock & Wilcox after 30 years of service. Virgil enjoyed woodworking and was an avid hunter and gardener. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Bloomfield; son, Virgil Randall Bloomfield; sisters, Virginia Patton Blevins and Maggie Miller Davis; brothers, Clyde, Sherman, David, Joseph, Harvey Jr., Wendell, Arnold and James Bloomfield. Virgil is survived by his children, Harvey (Sherry) Bloomfield, Patty Holcomb, Kim (Gary) Emerling and Denise (Tony) Lewis; 8 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; sister, Rita Waugh and sister-in-law, Alice Bloomfield. A Memorial Service will be held FRIDAY, January 5, 2023, 1:00pm at the Swigart-Easterling Funeral Home, 624 Cherry St. E. (Rt. 93) Canal Fulton. Burial with military honors at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Visitation ONE HOUR PRIOR to service time at the funeral home.
